RP-SW16P este proiectat sa permita transmisii simultane de pachete pe un canal de inalta viteza, intern. Poate astfel partitiona o retea mai eficient decat un bridge sau un router, in cele mai multe medii de lucru. Acest switch suporta standarde IEEE 802.3 10Base-T Ethernet and IEEE 802.3u 100Base-TX Fast Ethernet.
